Case Study: Tiger Retail

Presenting a Skills Session Successfully

With over 400 stores across 21 European countries, Tiger Retail has consistently grown its presence in the UK retail market. Employing over 250 staff, Tiger Retail and Gradvert partnered in 2014 to launch their first ever Graduate programme. Having recruited a cohort of top graduate talent, Gradvert worked closely with Tiger to design and deliver an action based leadership development programme aimed to fast track their graduates to positions of management.


The Challenge

Having grown rapidly and established a strong foothold in the UK retail market, Tiger recognised the need to develop the leadership potential of their store management teams in order to ensure that stores were operating to a high standard and in line with the organisations vision and values. Wanting to maximise the potential of their graduate talent, Gradvert worked closely with Tiger to design and deliver a leadership development programme allowing their graduates to develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours of a successful leader within Tiger.

The Solution

Gradvert spent time with Tiger Retail, understanding their vision, values and purpose and interviewing senior leaders within the business. As a result, Gradvert designed and delivered a comprehensive Leadership Development Programme which included; workshops, action learning sessions and 1:1 coaching.

The programme was built around five core modules including:

  • Personal Effectiveness
  • Communication and Influencing
  • Critical Thinking and Problem Solving
  • Building a High Performing Store Team
  • An Introduction to Workplace Coaching

The Impact

With the support of Gradvert’s Leadership Development Programme:

  • All of the graduates were fast tracked to management positions following
    the Leadership Development Programme.
  • Tiger Retail opened up the programme to allow new store managers to
    join the programme to enhance their development.
  • Gradvert received a five star rating from programme delegates about the
    content, quality and delivery of the programme.
  • Gradvert and Tiger Retail established a long-term partnership and
    Gradvert are currently delivering Tiger’s second Leadership Programme for
    their new intake of future leaders.
